Clarification of Image & Identity

Objective 1: Articulate, celebrate and leverage our relevance as a women's organization.

By the end of 2008...
a) Chapters will celebrate the local achievements and impact of women in the profession
b) Members will be able to articulate the distinct value of belonging to a women's organization
c) Women's Council will be poised to demonstrate the business imperative of including the women's perspective in decision-making for the industry
d) Women's Council will begin to be tapped as the expert on the needs and the value of women entrepreneurs in the industry


Membership Value
Focus of Education

Objective 2: Provide education, business tools and support that meet the distinct needs of women entrepreneurs in the way they prefer to learn.

By the end of 2008...
a) A system is in place to develop education that, at all levels of the organization, focuses squarely on the needs of women entrepreneurs
b) Education is delivered in a variety of formats and venues that provide members with just-in-time access to information to drive business success at each stage of their careers
c) The expertise and experience of the membership is full utilized to deliver education
d) Members have access to the individual support they need to take their business to the next level and to be accountable for achieving their business goals


Membership Development

Objective 3: Attract and retain successful Realtor members by being invaluable as a business partner at each stage in their career.

By the end of 2008...
a) Women's Council membership retention will reach 85%
b) Successful, experienced women in the profession will be more fully engaged in Women's Council as active members, role models, and in other ways, lending their voice and influence to address issues and objectives
c) The profile of Women's Council members will include more brokers, managers, and owners, as well as women who are pursuing these levels of leadership in the profession
d) The gap will be widenened between the success of the Women's Council member and the average Realtor


Member Network
Chapter Effectiveness

Objective 4: Empower chapters as dynamic, professional communities of practice that support members in meeting business goals and in developing and exercising their leadership potential.

By the end of 2008...
a) Throiugh chapter participation, members discover and develop their unique potential for success
b) Members come together in convenient, flexible ways around business interests, needs and areas of expertise
c) Chapter leaders develop chapter resources and build chapter structures that deliver member value and business opportunities
d) A chapter  'community of practice'  model is developed and beta tested as a means to deliver on the promise of the Women's Council mission

Member Engagement/Leadership Identification and Development
Objective 5: Identify and more deeply engage members to take advantage of a full range of leadership opportunities both within the organization and within the profession and the community.

By the end of 2008...
a) Members view leadership in Women's Council not as 'position', but as influence, sharing of expertise, and personal advancement
b) Members relate achievement of personal and professional goals with a wide range of pathways for involvement and leasership in Women's Council
c) Members understand that the richest resource in Women's Council is their own experience, and see the value in sharing it with others
d) Leaders who hold positions at all levels of the organization are models of successful Realtors
e) Past officers of Women's council find productive opportunities for continued involvement and impact within the organization
f) All members are recognized and celebrated for their contribution and achievements as leaders in the organization. industry, and community

Service Delivery Mechanism
Objective 6: Provide multiple ways to access the value of Women's Council membership.

By the end of 2008...
a) Information and resources are available to members 24/7 in the way they want it
b) Members use the Referral Roster as a broader networking tool to tap the expertise of other members to solve problems
c) Members' expertise is captured and accessible on-line, and is updated in real time
d) Members interact with peers in a variety of ways, from basic referrals to in-depth problem solving groups that share the best practices

Outreach & Influence
Influence/Impact - Industry
Objective 7: Position women to maximize their potential for influence within the industry.

By the end of 2008...
a) Women's Council is preparing women (with the knowledge, skills, and understanding of the process they need) to take on leadership roles in the industry
b) Leadership opportunities are redefined and broadened beyond holding office in the Women's Council to include additional, broader ways for members to influence change
c) More Women's Council members are making an impact at the industry level and finding value and satisfaction in the experience
d) The expertise of Women's Council members in positions of leadership is leveraged for greater impact both within the organization and throughout the profession

Influence/Impact - Public
Objective 8: Accelerate the influence of women within our communities on real estate related issues.

By the end of 2008...
a) A plan is ready to implement for gathering and using information on the current member involvement in their communities
b) Members understand the value to their business of getting involved in the community leadership opportunities
c) Appropriate strategic partnerships are identities to support women in leadership roles in the community

Diversity
Objective 9: Rally the full diversity of women Realtors within the profession and around the Women's Council mission.

By the end of 2008...
a) Membership in Women's Council will be more reflective of real estate professionals and their client base in the community
b) Influential women in diverse real estate organizations are attracted to the Women's Council to satisfy their needs as women entrepreneurs
c) the diverse profile of Women's Council and local Realtor Association membership is captured, and along with available NAR research is used to set realistic outreach goals for diversity
d) Members have access to trends, information, and best practices in addressing diversity issues effectively in their business

Organizational Development
Governance

Objective 10: Transition to a more streamlined system of governance that provides open access ti the member network and efficient delivery of member value.

By the end of 2008...
a) current governance shifts underway are evaluated and next steps to streamline governance are determined
b) State chapters are focused on supporting the performance of local chapters, with measures in place to ensure accountability
